วิชาการจัดการโรงแรม (Hotel Management)

เป็นสาขาวิชาที่นักเรียนไทยส่วนใหญ่นิยมเลือกไปศึกษามากที่สุด หลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนของสถาบันการโรงแรมในสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ส่วนใหญ่ ให้เรียนทั้งทฤษฎี และปฏิบัติ โดยสถานศึกษาจะจัดให้ นักเรียนฝึกงานตามโรงแรมต่างๆ ในประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ทำให้ผู้ที่สำเร็จการศึกษาวิชาการโรงแรมของสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ มีความรู้พื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับงานโรงแรมทุกด้าน เช่น งานครัว งานเสิร์ฟอาหาร งานดูแล ห้องพัก งาน Front Office และมาตรฐานที่ดีของการบริการด้านต่าง ๆ

แต่สถานศึกษาที่เปิดสอนวิชาการโรงแรมในประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ จะเป็นสถาบันการศึกษาของเอกชนทั้งสิ้น ซึ่งได้รับการรับรองโดยรัฐ หรือรับรองโดยสมาคมวิชาชีพต่างๆ จะไม่มีเปิดสอนในมหาวิทยาลัยหรือสถาบันเทคโนโลยีของรัฐ ระดับการศึกษาที่เปิดสอนมีตั้งแต่ระดับ Certificate (หลักสูตร 1 ปี หรือต่ำกว่า 1 ปี)
Diploma (2 - 3 ปี) จนถึงระดับปริญญาตรี (4 ปี) และระดับปริญญาโท (2 ปี) ภาษาที่ใช้ในการสอนนั้น
แตกต่างกันออกไปในแต่ละสถาบัน บางแห่งใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในการสอน บางแห่งใช้ภาษาฝรั่งเศส หรือภาษาเยอรมัน

มหาวิทยาลัยดัง

เนื่องจากมหาวิทยาลัยหรือสถาบันเทคโนโลยีที่เป็นของรัฐบาลทั้งหมด มีเพียง 10 แห่งเท่านั้น มหาวิทยาลัยของรัฐจึงเป็นที่ยอมรับมากกว่าสถาบันเอกชน โดยแบ่งเป็นสถานศึกษาที่อยู่ในเขตพูดเยอรมัน 5 แห่ง และอยู่ในเขตพูดภาษาฝรั่งเศส 5 แห่ง สถานศึกษาที่ตั้งอยู่ในเขตพูดภาษาใด ก็จะใช้ภาษานั้นเป็นภาษาในการเรียนการสอน ยกเว้นมหาวิทยาลัย Fribourg จะใช้ภาษาเยอรมันและภาษาฝรั่งเศส
